petition to stop  lincoln city  council refusing  to declare bond fit for accreditation  and reviewing bonds trusted landlord status

At the start of  November 2020  The City of Lincoln Council refused to re-declare Bond Housing Group as Fit For Accreditation (FFA),  meaning that  the full  renewal of our  membership of DASH (the local accreditation scheme) was  refused,  and presently may only be agreed  by DASH  on a one year basis.  The council have only refused to re-declare Bond as FFA because we have  exercised our legal right to appeal to the First Tier Tribunal  against a  decision by  the council  that  two studios at 144 West Parade (links-  Studio 2 and Studio 5) are not reasonably suitable for occupation in their current configuration.  We have two expert reports confirming that both of the studios are reasonably suitable for occupation, and our appeal is on this basis, and the  fact that the council's own adopted standards for HMOs are not legally enforceable.  We  are advised that  we will win the appeal. 

On 6 November  2020 The City of Lincoln Council  wrote to us to tell us that separately from the above, our membership  of the Lincoln City Council Trusted Landlord Scheme was now also under review. The reason given  to us  for this extraordinary decision was because we  had contacted the press about failings  in the council's  own licensing and  trusted  landlord functions, by informing the press  that the council  were  issuing licenses  for properties owned by other landlords  which were  dangerous,  and were continuing to offer membership of the Trusted Landlord Scheme to  such landlords.  We  contacted the press in September  2020 after  the  council took no action  since we informed them in April 2020.  The Lincolnite  declined to publish our findings after  contact from the council.   The council's communications manager asked for  an article on Property 118 to be removed, but when asked to  demonstrate that any of the  content was inaccurate, he could not do so.  

Please  sign the petition below  so that we can demonstrate that  our tenants and professional colleagues all believe that we should be DASH Accredited and a Trusted Landlord in Lincoln.

The council is making a final decision   on our Trusted  Landlord Status  on  or before 31  December 2020.
